Lim Yeong-gyu is a blind elderly seal-engraving master known for producing beautiful work. Celebrated nationwide as a "living miracle", he lives with his son, Dong-hwan, who handles most of the business' aspects. When a television documentary was being done on Yeong-gyu's life and artistry, Dong-hwan learns that the skeletal remains of his mother, whom he thought abandoned the family when he was a baby, was discovered at a construction site, where it was buried for nearly forty years.n
